Musée bibliothèque Pierre-André Benoît
Rue de Brouzen, 30100 Ales
The Museum - library Pierre André Benoit offers exhibitions around graphic arts, artist’s book, poetry and artists of his collection. In 1986, Pierre André Benoit, PAB by his name of publisher, printer, poet, sculptor, and draughtsman donated his collection of works of modern art to his hometown, Alès, to create a museum bearing his name. The museum’s exceptional collection is dominated by graphic arts and illustrated books. One of the attractions is the small format, “tiny” passion for PAB. The PAB collection is remarkable, very intuitive, very personal: paintings, drawings and engravings by Alechinsky, Braque, Picasso, Miró, Picabia, Survage, Viera da Silva, Bryen, Hugo and nearly 450 books made by PAB combining poetry and painting deposited by the BnF.
