This church was part in the Middle Ages of a Benedictine priory dependent on the Poitevine abbey of Charroux. The church, built in the Romanesque era, was heavily remodelled in the 15th and 16th centuries, after the looting of the hundred-year war, in particular. Classified Historical Monument since 1840.
