The Saint-Joseph de Tartas school is within the walls of the ancient citadel of Tartas, in which lived a community of Ursuline sisters, dedicated to the education of young girls. This place has known the great dates of history. Nestled within the school grounds, the beautiful cloister of the former convent of the Ursuline sisters also served as a barracks for a few years after the Revolution. Today, part of this heritage of the region is abandoned, but the cloister is still used today by students.
