The new exhibition of the Departmental Archives allows to discover the history of cinema in Corrèze, from the first travelling projections in 1897 to the current multiplexes. Whether you are a movie buff or not, you will also be pleased to (re)discover the films shot in the department, during a guided tour, as well as an important collection of Pathé cameras and projectors from the inventor and industrial Tullist Pierre-Victor Continsouza.

Since 1986, the Archives is one of the directorates of the General Council of the Corrèze in application of the provisions of the law of 22 July 1983 on decentralization, placed for scientific and technical control, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.
The archives of the Corrèze have been installed in various places in Tulle:
* 1790: installation in the attic of the former church of the convent of Feuillants (City of Bournazel today) became prefecture in 1800;
* 1874: move to the top floor of the Prefecture, rue Souham;
* 1913-1914: construction of a special building on Souham Street with 3 km of shelving;
* 1954-1956: upgrade and extension of the building (3 additional km of shelving);
* 1975-1980: construction of the new depot in Touron.
