The origin of the construction of the castle goes back to the twelfth century but the centuries and the years have strongly evolved its physiognomy to adapt it to its different assignments: residence of squire, minor seminary, hospital, summer camp, college, collective residential building... The site, by its successive occupations, is part of the collective memory usselloise. At the beginning of the 21st century, for lack of a remarkable historical character, the castle was decaying before being bought in 2019 to be the subject of an original tourist accommodation project (a work in progress in 2020).
