Heritage + Matrimony = Our cultural heritage MATRIMONY is a word that was once used to designate the maternal heritage, but which disappeared during the Revolution, absorbed by the word HERITAGE to signify the cultural heritage. To rehabilitate women artists is to give younger generations other models of identification. We highlight a sculpture by Marie Besnière-Henraux (1876-1964), a sculptor born in China and deceased in Périgueux, as well as the career of several women artists in the Fine Arts rooms. Musical interventions and readings will take place in the collections to evoke musicians, authors and artists. Guided tour: «Marie, Baya, Alice and the others...» Accompanied by museum mediators and Femmes Solidaires, discover these women who have had to fight to defend their art…

First museum created in Dordogne in the XIXth century, Maap proposes you an amazing journey in the universe of artistic creation, of Périgord in China via Africa and Oceania (7th collection of France).
