Château-musée Henri IV
Rue Henri IV, 47600 Nérac
- Lot-et-Garonne
- Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The castle of Nérac was built between the 15th and 16th century by the lords of Albret. This royal residence is known for having hosted the courts of Marguerite d'Angoulême, Jeanne d'Albret and Henri de Navarre, future Henri IV. The building is of Louis XII style, thus forming a transition between Gothic art and the first Renaissance.
The castle was dismantled during the French Revolution. Only the north wing was preserved. It was classified as a Historical Monument in 1862\. It now houses the Henri IV Castle-Museum.
