As part of the European Heritage Days, the municipality of Dorat proposes to highlight the natural heritage through the following exhibition: the exhibition «Jardiner la Rue» made available by CAUE86 to highlight the greening of public space (borders, feet of walls, etc.).
This exhibition presents all the good reasons for “Gardening the Street”:

Increase tourist appeal.
Securing the town crossing.
Integrate spontaneous vegetation.
Return the pedestrian to his place.
Re-create social bond.
Valuing historical heritage.
This exhibition, co-realized by the CAUE de la Charente et de la Gironde, with the contribution of the CAUE de la Vienne, presents concrete achievements of street vegetation in a dozen municipalities of the 3 departments represented, at different scales.

The grain hall consists of 3 concrete industrial buildings from the early 20th century. It is located in the protection zone of the collegiate church of Le Dorat. The restructuring of these spaces is an opportunity to create a hub of cultural and social activities, shared, versatile and accessible in the centre of the village including a media library, a computer space, meeting and exhibition rooms and a market hall, concerts and public events. The buildings are reorganized around the central building and lined with wood from the eyes to the feet.
