Exhibition in the Saint-Maximin church of Magnac-Laval: «Yesterday, today and tomorrow»
From a great age, whose origins would have been before the eleventh century, the church Saint-Maximin of Magnac-Laval has survived the time by suffering many damages which resulted in various modifications of the building.
The building is adorned with several stained-glass windows, two of which represent the great Procession of 9 leagues (54 km) carried out every year on Pentecost Monday in honor of Saint Maximin, patron saint of the city. There is also a collection of statues and paintings including the recently restored Visitation. Also worth seeing is the remarkable mechanism of the old bell tower clock on display in the north chapel (San Sebastian chapel).
The history of the building presented through an exhibition at Magn'accueil will allow the visitor to better understand its evolution over time. Will also be explained the restoration projects of the building (roofs, facades, stability, health, etc...) to ensure a sustainable life.
