The story of Arthus Bertrand is written through six family generations and is based on the perfect mastery of his craftsmanship to create a jewelry that has meaning. This house is one of the last to master the artisanal method of bas-relief. This hand-carved sculpture, made before the creation, allows to vibrate the material, to give the jewel all its expression by subtly engraving reliefs and contrasts that will make play light on the material. Only the hand of the craftsman knows how to make engraving live and ensure the sensitivity of the final rendering. Arthus Bertrand uses the ancestral technique of stamping using the same methods as 200 years ago. The Matrix Room, a treasure of its heritage, contains 72,000 carefully preserved matrices. The artisans of the house are among the only ones to master the great fire enamel, which is a complex know-how, requiring several successive firings until obtaining the desired shade.
