Presentation of the history of the Romanesque church Saint-Étienne and its romantic organ. Organists play the instrument «undressed» for the occasion for a better understanding. This organ, donated by Lord John Hobart Caradoc in 1864, was restored in 2014. Proposed by the organist and the parish of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul.

Legend has it that there was a wooden chapel here in the 10th century, at the end of the road that came from Bordeaux. The present church dates back to the 11th century, built in the Romanesque style of the time. It was refurbished in the 15th century. During the siege of Bayonne in 1814, the church was devastated, its bell tower and the vaults destroyed. Thanks to the gift of Irish General Caradoc, the parish was able to complete the reconstruction of the building between 1851 and 1856\. The great arcades of the nave and the vaults as well as the ceilings of the aisles date from this period, as do the belfry and the neo-gothic portal. Two apses are added to the apse. From the Romanesque period, the apse in the cul-de-four and the foundations of the transept remain.
