The Historical Society will present the city in the Middle Ages through mapping, old writings, current publications and an exhibition on the castle of Montlhéry.

This communal building was inscribed, by decree of 5 February 1937, to the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments. During the reign of Philippe Auguste (1180-1223), during the administrative reorganization of the kingdom, Montlhéry became the seat of a provost court. Consequently, No. 27 of the Grande-Rue des Prisons and an audience for the conduct of court hearings are being built. They were built in the 14th and 15th centuries. In 1548, the chancellor of Leuville took possession of his county of Montlhéry and rebuilt the prison and the audience, which were repaired again in 1659 by François de Dinan, provost of the time. These places, witnesses of seigneurial justice, were subject to degradation because of their daily service. During the Revolution, prisons were still used.
