Since 2016 and after a complete rehabilitation, the Théâtre des Quartiers d'Ivry has been installed at the Manufacture des OEillets, a symbol of workers' culture of the 20th century. A meeting place, with two concert halls: the Fabrique (397 seats) and the Lantern (99 seats), the room dedicated to the Atelier Théâtral and the Halle for the reception of the public and various events.
A real factory dedicated to creation, this theatre is a house of authors, in vibration with the world. It offers artist residencies, shows and artistic practices. Open to all, it is a link between territories, cultures and generations for local, national and international influence.
Guided by one of the members of the TQI team, you will discover the performance and rehearsal rooms, the sets and costumes workshops, the backstage and artists' boxes… You will leave with some historical and architectural landmarks and many anecdotes!

Founded in 1972 by Antoine Vitez in Ivry-sur-Seine to invest theatrical spaces in the city’s neighbourhoods, the Théâtre des Quartiers d'Ivry was then directed by Philippe Adrien (1981 to 1984), Catherine Dasté (1985 to 1992) and the duo Adel Hakim and Élisabeth Chailloux (1992 to 2018) which, after a 13-year foreshadowing project, installed the theatre at the Manufacture des Œillets at the same time that they obtained its certification in the Centre Dramatique National du Val-de-Marne. Alongside the two institutions already in place on the site, EPSAA (the School of Graphic Arts of the City of Paris) and Crédac (the Centre d'art contemporain d'Ivry), he participates in making the Manufacture des Œillets an important cultural hub of the city of Ivry-on-Seine and the whole of the Ile-de-France region. A new directorate is awaiting appointment by January 2021.
