A HOUSE-MUSEUM In 1983, the Datcha became a museum, at the initiative of the Association of Friends of Ivan Tourgueniev, Pauline Viardot and Maria Malibran and its creator, Alexandre Zviguilsky, literature researcher at the CNRS, passionate about the writer, the place and its literary history. In this charming place, in the middle of the woods, next to the house of the Viardot, met great names of literature and arts like Guy de Maupassant, Alexandre Dumas, Alphonse Daudet, Emile Zola, Henry James, Camille St Saens, Gabriel Fauré, as well as Russian intellectuals.
