Founded in 1878, the Hospice Ferrari is nestled in a green setting, reflecting the landscape tastes of the nineteenth century. Its architecture is inspired by the Parisian hospital buildings of the mid-nineteenth century and borrows from the style of the Italian Renaissance. Hospice built between 1877 and 1888 by architect Léon Ginain for the Duchess of Galliera. The chapel, located in the centre of the buildings, has an interior decoration of Byzantine inspiration (Justinian era). The laundry room and water tower are independent buildings built by architect Prosper Bobin. The laundry room, with its polychrome brick facades and metal supports and frames, is an example of Rationalist architecture of the late 19th century. The water tower was built entirely of reinforced cement by Joseph Monier, inventor of a process applied to tanks and reservoirs since the 1860s.
