Guided tour of the Saint-Clair church of Gometz-le-Châtel
The church of Saint-Clair is mentioned from the 11th century and following various transformations it knows its current volume at the beginning of the 16th century.
This visit, led by a volunteer from ASEGC (Association de Sauvegarde de l'Eglise de Gometz-le-Châtel), will make you know the architecture and the eventful history of this church which almost disappeared in the 1960s and which owed only to the will of the inhabitants and their elected representatives to be first registered in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments in 1983 then to be restored for the first time between 1985 and 1989.
It will also be an opportunity to talk about the contemporary stained glass windows of the church and its bell Martinne which has also been classified.
