In the Neolithic era, man became a food producer and learned to control his environment. He built the first villages. Technical innovations emerged: polished stone, weaving and ceramics. The use of terracotta containers is linked to a stable life and that is why it goes hand in hand with the existence of villages. Indeed, ceramic vases are bulky and fragile and have little interest for nomadic populations. However, the clay was used for many other things: building houses, making small statuettes, weighing down spindles, building ovens… After the presentation of the Neolithic period and the way of life of men on the future soil of France, the children will realize the assembly of a ceramic according to the techniques used at the time.
