In its premises in Nanterre, ( see link https://mege-paris.org/) the association MEGE (Mémoire de l'Electricité du Gaz et de l'Eclairage public) keeps the materials that tell the story of the distribution of gas and electricity in the Paris region.
You will discover the evolution of the techniques and equipment of distribution of gas and electricity, from the nineteenth century to today, an extraordinary collection of lamps, bulbs and lanterns of public lighting, tools, meters, historical documents, in particular on safety, as well as many models.
You will see the collections of ancient materials that have been used to distribute electricity and gas energy and illuminate public spaces and monuments as well as the evolution over time of metering devices for electricity and gas.
Finally, an exhibition of numerous models of vehicles used by distributors over the last 70 years will be presented to you as well as the usual objects of applications of electricity in daily life.
