L'imprimerie Bellenand (1883-1954) and Fontenay-aux-Roses
The Bellenand printing press has long been the first employer in Fontenay-aux-Roses. Originally located in a small workshop on Avenue du Général Leclerc, the company developed into one of the leading printing houses in the southern suburbs in the 1920s. Albin Michel, the PUF, Denoël are then among their customers and his illustrious (including "The Journal of Mickey") spread to tens of thousands of copies.
The printing press is also a place marked by union struggles, the development of women’s work and the many accidents generated by this production activity.
This printing house is also a family present in various ways in the Fontenaisian news of the twentieth century.
All these aspects will be addressed during a tour mainly concentrated in the northwest of the city.
