Dive into the history of the Bièvre, a river of Ile-de-France of shallow depth but carrying history. This 36 km river has seen its waters polluted by artisanal and industrial activities, sometimes buried under the embankments. Today, it is the subject of numerous reopenings (at the Hay-les-Roses in 2016, at Arcueil and Gentilly in 2022). Let’s retrace together the journey from Bièvre to Cachan and discover the traces she left and how she shaped the landscape. With a marked geography, this urban valley offers many panoramas. Dotted with pavilions and gardens, the hillsides reveal a strong presence of nature. The aqueducts, elements of a vast water supply network of Paris, are the monuments. Guided by Hugo LE GOFF, landscape architect at the Conseil d'Architecture, d'Urbanisme et de l'Environnement du Val-de-Marne, this tour will begin on the forecourt of the town hall of Cachan.
