The Domaine de Chamarande is a precious witness to the areas of pleasure that have escaped destruction, and before it is the manifestation of the social rise of its successive owners from François Miron, under Henri IV, to Auguste Mione in the 1960s. Manhandled and sometimes abandoned during the 19th and 20th centuries, the Estate with its brick and stone castle and its park of 98 hectares is reborn thanks to Auguste Mione then to the Departmental Council of Essonne which created the Departmental Fund of Contemporary Art and install the Departmental Archives there.
