Archéo-Balade
Through a walk in the time of about 1 hour, the volunteers of the association will guide you to the most significant remains unearthed in the town.
You can discover or rediscover the famous Gallo-Roman theater, classified and protected as Historical Monuments in 1983. The latter is the subject of a large-scale restoration project and was elected «emblematic site» by the Misson patrimoine de Stéphane Bern, campaign 2023, with all the remains unearthed by the association on the territory of the municipality.
During your walk in time, a stop will be proposed to you behind the current church of the commune, a place that offers us a clear testimony of the evolution of the landscape since the Gallo-Roman occupation.
The path will then lead you to the last emblematic site of Châteaubleau: the northern sanctuary, called "spring". Currently being excavated, it has been specially cleaned so that visitors can realize the magnitude of this monument and its importance in the current and ancient landscape.
Between historical and archaeological facts and anecdotes of excavation, here is a walk that you are not close to forget.
