It was in 1831 that Jacques-François Adam acquired extensive land in the centre of the Marne loop. He certainly divided them, but by creating a real small town in the city to which he gives his name: Adamville. At the end of the 19th century, this central district hosted the Town Hall of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. The walk proposed by the CAUE du Val-de-Marne will allow you to (re)discover an old building typical of a city center, with the Avenue Charles de Gaulle, but also the elegant brick houses of the Place du Maréchal Juin, the Art Nouveau building on Avenue Carnot or the very original Art Deco house on Rue Rouget de l'Isle, for example. A very lively neighborhood! The visit will be guided by Anne-Marie MONIER, architect at the Council of Architecture, Urbanism and the Environment of Val-de-Marne.
