Exceptional opening of the Senlis Arena, the best preserved Gallo-Roman theatre of the 1st century in northern France, rediscovered in 1865 by the Senlis Historical and Archaeological Society. Main vomitorium, secondary vomitorium, access corridors, dressing room, stage, podium wall, chapels, carcere (cages), stairs to access the bleachers, arena, are still visible. Guided tours by specialists; workshops of the Department of Archaeology of the Oise in connection with Antiquity: manufacture of fibulas, presentation of the missions of the service (subject); workshops of the Society of History and Archaeology of Senlis: children’s workshops, ceramics, ancient board games, the wearing of the toga, culinary recipes of Antiquity (including honey and quince paste that can be found on site), history photo stands, bookshop of history and regional archaeology, ephemeral museum, INRAP stands: introduction to archaeology techniques; sale of honey produced in the arenas, and, in partnership with the Senlis Museum of History and Archaeology: visits from the Museum arriving at the Arenas (Saturday and Sunday) and visits from the Arena to the museum (on Saturdays).
