Through a guided tour of his statue, discover the story of Eudes de Châtillon, son of a knight who became pope, born around 1040 in Châtillon-sur-Marne.
At the end of the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to climb the steps of the statue to access the interior of the building. You will enjoy an exceptional 360° view of the Champagne vineyards and the 22 villages of the Marne Valley.

Place of birth of the pope Urbain II, Châtillon contains since 1887 a colossal statue of 33 metres representing this famous character. Of the pope Urbain II, Eudes of Châtillon in civilian life, let us hold(retain) that he(it) preached the first crusade towards Jerusalem in 1095 and imposed two weekly days of God's Truce in armed fights. The church Notre-Dame dates the XVIth century.
