The buildings of this American-style campus, including the University Library, are among the major works designed in the 1960s by architect and urban planner Marcel Lods (1891-1978), to whom we owe important architectural research on prefabrication processes. The architect used for all the buildings of the Faculty of Materials and a resolutely modern technique: white concrete external pillars supporting the whole, anodized aluminum and large glazings constituting the facades. To facilitate further extensions, it has provided buildings without floors. The library and the physics and chemistry research buildings at two or three levels are the exception. Several works of the 1% artistic* are present on the Campus: Granits by Shamaï Haber, Polish artist (1922-1995); Mosaic by Raoul Ubac (1910-1985), realized in 1970; Le Moulin de la Housse by sculptor Jacques-Victor André created in 1997.
