During the Second World War, the Gestapo settled in this building.
In the 1990s, resistance fighters and veterans worked to open the basements, places of detention and torture, to the public.
In 2019, the "This is my heritage" program allows young Châlonnais to appropriate the places and rehabilitate them.
The new exhibition allows this memorial site to commemorate the fighters and resistance fighters of the region, who passed through this basement.

Nº 7 of the Cours d'Ormesson was built in 1931-1932 to house the Chamber of Agriculture, according to the plans of the architect Gaston Beaudoin. The building presents an Art Deco architecture characteristic of the civil constructions of his time. Built in yellow brick, limestone and concrete, it is one of the most beautiful examples of Châlonnais architectural style: all in sobriety, with clean geometric forms and simple motifs. During the Second World War, in June 1940, the premises of the Chamber of Agriculture became the regional headquarters of the Gestapo de la Marne, la Haute-Marne and l'Aube. It was first directed by Major Graff Von Korff, then by Doctor Karl Luttke from 1943\. There are its central administrative services. The basements become places of detention and torture. Today, the 7 Cours d'Ormesson building houses the headquarters of the Châlons-en-Champagne Habitat social housing organization. Jacques Songy and Jean Chabaud, both resisters, are behind the plan to make
