Médiathèque Georges Delaw - Ardenne Métropole

A Sedan artist trained at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Arts décoratifs, André Galland was a complete artist. Both illustrator, cartoonist, croquiste-reporter, poster artist, lithographer... His works transcribe the movement with great care: André Galland used to draw the technique called "bone points". Discover his drawings, illustrations, sketches, lithographs and posters at the Médiathèque Georges Delaw. The exhibition is realized in partnership with the association Art et Passion du Livre en Ardenne.

The Municipal Library of Sedan was established in 1809\. The collection of books is made from the remains of various libraries of various origins, recovered as part of the revolutionary confiscations:
* the library of the Protestant Academy of Sedan, created in the seventeenth century under the impulse of the Prince de Sedan Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne (library that was dispersed in 1642 during the annexation of Sedan by France);
* the Catholic library of the Jesuit College (established in the 17th century);
* the library of the Capuchin Convent of Sedan.
