Luzillé: a small visit according to your desires
The texts relate the presence in the sixth century of a first wooden church. This building disappeared and was replaced in the 12th century by the present church of pure Romanesque style. Remodeled in the 15th century with the addition of a collateral, it was restored twice in the 18th century.
It is only in Sainte-Luce that one can admire a work of cabinetmaking unique in its kind, a piece of furniture built in one piece combining the two functions, of pulpit to preach and confessional. Circular in shape in its lower part, it is plated with walnut magnifying glass which gives it a certain preciousness.
The municipality of Luzillé, as evidenced by the deliberations of 1922, gave preference to an artist to create the memorial of the municipality. The sculptor Médéric Bruno was chosen. He is the second medal of the Prix de Rome which makes him a recognized artist by his peers and he teaches at the School of Fine Arts in Tours.
Hiking: two tours are offered from the Place de la Vallée des Moreaux (9 km and 11 km) – Leaflets available in town hall and on the site of the Community of Municipalities: https://www.cc-autourdechenonceaux.fr

Luciliacum is attested since the Middle Ages and means the domain of Lucilius.
Church of Saint Luce It is very possible that the dedication of the church to Saint Luce was chosen to recall the toponym. The texts relate the presence in the sixth century of a first wooden church. This building disappeared and was replaced in the 12th century by the present church of pure Romanesque style. Remodeled in the 15th century by the addition of a collateral, it was restored twice in the 18th century. Inside, a beautiful light comes from the three stained glass windows made at the beginning of the 19th century by the artist Lux Fournier, master glassmaker in Tours.
