May 18, 1884, is the birth certificate of the station of Sully-sur-Loire. The railway then extended its network throughout France, serving more and more small stations. At the beginning of the 20th century, Sully enjoyed direct connections to the capital. But as early as 1939, the young SNCF made cuts on unprofitable lines, and the Sully station was no longer served by passengers. The line will remain active for goods and ridership will gradually decrease until 30 March 2011, the date of the last station crossing.
Bought by the city a few years later, it will remain unused until 2022. In 2023, the Sully Récup'Recycle association set up shop in the cargo hall to develop a resourcing project, in partnership with the Town Hall.
