Guided tour with commentary
The objectives of the association are based on its statutes: “- to restore the buildings of the Gravière site by rediscovering and making known the ancient construction techniques; - to make the site live by focusing on studying and promoting the traditional know-how, the natural and cultural heritage of the Haut-Haut-Berry ”. A rehabilitation of the buildings of La Gravière must allow: the preservation of a building witness of the traditional rural architecture of Haut-Berry and especially of the Pays-Fort; the creation of a place of associative life: meetings, meals, workshops for the works, etc. the creation of a place of cultural animation: exhibitions, conferences, concert etc. The rehabilitation of the buildings must be a highlight for the association but also for the inhabitants of the region. It is an opportunity to promote the traditional architecture of the Pays-Fort, traditional construction techniques and promote them to a wide audience: school and inhabitants of the region, professionals, tourists.
The association also wants to create a meeting and working place as well as a means of dissemination and transmission for all people who want to invest in the following themes: traditional architecture, natural environment (fauna, flora, hunting, hedges, etc.), the ancient trades and know-how (mowing, wicker work, making barriers, ladders, plesser bouch'tues, etc.), music (traditional, classical, balls, meetings of musicians, etc.), historical studies on the region and the collection of oral traditions (vigil, meeting of elders and youth, etc.).
