Edifiée in the XIIth century, on a more old(former) construction, this church devoted to saint Épain, martyr in the IVth century, was begun with the apse partly of Romanic style from Poitou. At the crossroads of the leaky transept of Gothic bays(berries) rises an imposing square tower of the XIIth century, covered with a dome on pendants of ovoid shape. This building, partly of Gothic style from Anjou, extended and altered in the XIIIth, XVth and XVIth centuries, was restored in 1856 and 1870 and listed(classified) in conformance with(for) historic monuments in 1913\. In the chorus(choir) splendid stalls in oak of the beginning of the XVIth century are. To discover also, the stained-glass windows of the workshop Lobin of Tours(Ballots,Towers).
