These tapestries were the object of a very curious story at the time of the last war. The tribulation of these two tapestries began during the 39-45 war, just before the bombing of the city of Orléans and the arrival of the Germans (16 June 1940). In order to protect them, the two tapestries were deposited by the administrators of the Hospices Civils d'Orléans, in the Sainte-Croix cathedral, then transported with the woodwork of the same cathedral, to Châteauneuf-sur-Loire, in September 1939. Strangely, in 1970, one of them was on display at the Musée de la Marine in Châteauneuf, but was later returned to the Orléans Regional Hospital to integrate its original site, the Chapelle Saint-Charles. The other was taken to the hospital. Entrusted in 1972, by the Fine Arts administration to a specialist for cleaning and restoration, they returned from Paris in February 1977, then decorated again the nave of the hospital chapel.
