Emilienne Moreau-Dechelle

Halfway between figuration and abstraction, graphic design is staged on the canvas. Writing and nonsignificant signs allow a subjective reading where lyricism and feelings merge to vibrate lines and movements. Graphoscenia: a new genre of which she is the creator, combining calligraphy and the staging of coloured spots expressing the emotions of life. The exploring soul of shadow and light draws from the invisible and the visible the flow of energy useful for graphic expression.

About the location

Temple de l'Église Réformée

Temple built in 1928 by Charles Waddington on the proposal of Pastor Samuel Brunet. The stained glass window by Charles Lorin, a glass painter born in Chartres, represents the symbols of the Huguenot cross. The various elements of the symbol have a political and spiritual meaning and allowed to affirm at the same time the loyalty to the king and the State, as well as a true evangelical faith. Charles Waddington, a Protestant, married to Bertha Harjes were both from financial and industrial circles.
