Cloître des Augustins-Noirs
23 rue Sainte-Anne 18700 Aubigny-sur-Nère
This monastery was founded in the sixteenth century by the Hermits Regular of St.Augustine who occupied it until the Revolution. Construction was completed in the 17th century. Formed by semicircular arches, the cloister is a curiosity of Solognote architecture with its set of stones and bricks. Sold in 1792, it passed in several hands until that of Claude Cloué, innkeeper at Bourges. Bourges ceded it to the city of Aubigny in 1818\. This complex of buildings, which housed the hospice for many years, now houses associations.
