The hill Notre-Dame du Haut leaves no one indifferent. At the top of this magical place stands the famous chapel of Le Corbusier, an iconic building, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Throughout the year, many curious visitors come to discover this special place and to admire the works of three internationally renowned architects who dialogue at its top (Le Corbusier, Prouvé and Piano).
Cultural guides and mediators will be available on site throughout the weekend to answer your questions. Several presentations of 30 minutes will be made to explain the history of the site, the importance of its spiritual dimension, but also the technical know-how present in its architecture (windows, the use of concrete). We will also speak to the progress of the restoration site.

About the location

Colline Notre-Dame du Haut
13 rue de la Chapelle 70250 Ronchamp
  • Haute-Saône

A major place of contemporary blest art! Overhanging the small city of Ronchamp, the hill Notre-Dame of the Top is a centre of international modern architecture and place of multiancient Marian pilgrimage today. It is here, that Corbusier, famous architect of the XXth century, rebuilds between 1953 and 1955 the chapel, the real symbol of the revival of contemporary blest art. In 1975, Jean Prouvé builds a bell tower at the foot of the chapel. Finally, in 2011, the Italian architect Renzo Piano finished the work of Corbusier by the construction of a monastery and of a detached house(flag) of welcome(reception).
