The chapel of the Croix-Bouthier was ceded in 2015 by the Noblet family to the commune of Varennes-sous-Dun. It has benefited from numerous restoration works that have helped save this magnificent building. A first chapel was built in the late 15th / early 16th century. It was rebuilt in 1927 by the Noblet family with the use of materials from the first chapel. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy. The bell dating from the 16th century is inscribed as a Historic Monument.
