Classical temple of the 19th century (1860) with contemporary stained glass (1970) The temples built in the 19th century are of great external sobriety. In general, the plan is rectangular, organized in single nave. The temple of Saint-Etienne is vast, it covers an area of 486 square meters. Its dimensions are 25 meters by 16 for a height of 14 meters. The presence of stained glass windows, even in greyness, reveals a rich parish with official claims. The pulpit and table are located at the bottom of the building and face the assembly.
On April 29, 1860, the day of the inauguration, under the presidency of Pastor BUISSON of Lyon, the work was not completed. Some paintings were only made in 1960 and the capitals on the ground floor are - except one - still not carved. The monumental wooden pulpit, financed by a donation from the HOLTZER and DORIAN families, was inaugurated in 1868 by the mayor of Saint-Etienne, Benoît CHARVET.
