Having installed(settled) in the old(former) prison of Nantua, city awarded a prize by the Resistance, the museum redraws the history(story) of the Second World War lived by the inhabitants of Ain.
Entirely renovated and updated, the museum presents a rich collection of objects, of documents and exceptional stories coming from the territory, and underlines routes(courses) of life of women and of men of the department. Across the history(story) of Ain, it is France of the years 1939-1945 that shows itself in the course of visit.
Depiction accessible(approachable) to all thanks to new arrangements(developments), multimedia and interactive tools (led cards(maps), projections, tactile paving stones, objects to be affected(touched)), the museum attempts to guarantee an optimum comfort of visit and renews our vision of the Second World War.
