Viel Humor, viel Leid, so ist das Leben der 72-jährigen Renée, die ab dem Alter von acht Jahren die Kühe hütet. Der Ehemann rauchte, trank und rannte mit den Petticoats, also raus! Es ist besser, allein zu sein, als schlecht begleitet zu werden.
Sie kennt das Land gut. Sie hat nur 4 ha, etwas genau für ihre 8 Kühe, 80 Hühner und 30 Gänse, ganz zu schweigen von Enten, Kaninchen, 3 Hunden usw. Abends, nachdem sie den Kamin angezündet hat, zieht sie das Spinnrad heraus und webt die Wolle oder strickt einen Pullover.
Mit ihren 3000 m2 Reben weiß Renée, wovon sie spricht, weil sie den Weinberg beschneidet und behandelt. Die Weinlese endet spät in der Nacht mit dem Klang des Akkordeons.
Sie braucht keinen Traktor, sie pflügt mit ihren Kühen. Für das Heu macht sie «den Wagen» und fährt ohne Manöver in die Scheune zurück.
Am Abend ist sie ein wenig müde, sie hat drei Heuwagen nach Hause gebracht... Morgen wird es besser...
Unter dem Gewicht des Jochs beginnt die Abnutzung seines Körpers zu spüren, aber selbst in Müdigkeit und Schmerz sprudelt ein Lächeln wie ein Sonnenstrahl und löscht die umliegenden Wolken aus.
Ihre Mutter hat sie so trainiert. Von Sonnenaufgang bis Sonnenuntergang nimmt sie jeden Tag bei jedem Wetter den Ärmel hoch. Das ist der harte Zustand der BÄUERIN.

Tanto umorismo, tante sofferenze, così va la vita di Renee, 72 anni, che dall'età di otto anni custodisce le mucche. Il marito fumava, beveva e correva le donne, quindi, fuori! È meglio restare soli che essere mal accompagnati.
La terra, la sua terra, la conosce bene. Ne ha solo 4 ettari, un po' solo per le sue 8 mucche, 80 galline e 30 oche, senza contare anatre, conigli, 3 cani ecc. La sera, dopo aver acceso il camino, tira fuori la ruota e tesse la lana o lavora un maglione.
Con i suoi 3000 m2 di vigna, Renée sa di cosa parla, perché taglia e tratta la vite. Il pasto della vendemmia termina a tarda notte al suono della fisarmonica.
Non ha bisogno di un trattore, lavora con le sue mucche. Per i fieni, «fa» il carro e retrocede senza alcuna manovra l'aggancio nel fienile.
La sera è un po' stanca, ha portato tre carri di fieno... Domani andrà meglio...
Sotto il peso del giogo, l'usura del suo corpo comincia a farsi sentire, ma anche nella fatica e nel dolore, un sorriso sgorga come un raggio di sole e cancella le nuvole circostanti.
Sua madre l'ha formata così. Dall'alba fino al tramonto, tutti i giorni, in ogni tempo, prende il manico. È la dura condizione della DONNA CONTADINA.

Beaucoup d’humour, beaucoup de souffrances, ainsi va la vie de Renée, 72 ans, qui, dès l’âge de huit ans garde les vaches. Le mari fumait, buvait et courait les jupons, alors, dehors ! Il vaut mieux rester seule qu’être mal accompagnée.
La terre, sa terre, elle la connaît bien. Elle en a seulement 4 ha, un peu juste pour ses 8 vaches, ses 80 poules et sa trentaine d’oies, sans compter les canards, les lapins, les 3 chiens etc. Le soir, après avoir allumé la cheminée, elle sort le rouet et tisse la laine ou bien tricote un pull.
Avec ses 3000 m2 de vigne, Renée sait de quoi elle parle, car elle taille et traite la vigne. Le repas des vendanges se termine tard la nuit au son de l’accordéon.
Pas besoin de tracteur, elle laboure avec ses vaches. Pour les foins, elle « fait » le char et recule sans aucune manœuvre l’attelage dans la grange.
Le soir elle est un peu fatiguée, elle a rentré trois chars de foin… Demain, ça ira mieux…
Sous le poids du joug, l’usure de son corps commence à se faire sentir, mais même dans la fatigue et la douleur, un sourire jaillit comme un rayon de soleil et efface les nuages environnants.
Sa mère l’a ainsi formée. Depuis le lever jusqu’au coucher du soleil, tous les jours, par tous les temps, elle prend le manche. C’est la dure condition de la FEMME PAYSANNE.

Mucho humor, mucho sufrimiento, así es la vida de Renée, de 72 años, que desde la edad de ocho cuida las vacas. El marido fumaba, bebía y corría por las enaguas, ¡así que, fuera! Es mejor estar sola que mal acompañada.
La tierra, su tierra, la conoce bien. Solo tiene 4 hectáreas, un poco solo para sus 8 vacas, 80 gallinas y 30 gansos, sin contar patos, conejos, 3 perros, etc. Por la noche, después de encender la chimenea, saca la rueca y teje la lana o teje un suéter.
Con sus 3000 m2 de viña, Renée sabe de lo que habla, porque talla y trata la viña. La cena de la vendimia termina tarde en la noche con el sonido del acordeón.
No necesita tractor, arará con sus vacas. Para el heno, ella «hace» el carro y retrocede sin ninguna maniobra el enganche en el granero.
Por la noche está un poco cansada, ha entrado tres carros de heno... Mañana estará mejor...
