Protection of the Canal des Fondeaux

The restoration work of ecological continuity planned this year on the water intake dating from the early nineteenth century will be presented. It will be possible to continue on a walking tour of the entire canal to the mill of Aube located towards the restitution to the Drome (allow 3 hours with the visit of the canal)

Already present in 1524, the Fondeaux canal marked the economic life of the city of Die until the 19th century. The use of the driving force of its water continues today. It starts at its water intake dating from 1825, located on the Meyrosse and rejects itself in the Drome after having fed 8 waterfalls on a course of 3 km.
