The European Heritage Days are back. After the retrospective of last year on the fabulous Sound and Lights of the 70s, it is the chapel of the Madeleine that the Friends of Saint-Saturnin wish to highlight. It was for the rescue of the Madeleine that the Association des Amis de Saint-Saturnin was created in 1928. The chapel was then classified and then restored. Today, a new intervention is necessary for our chapel, and the Friends of Saint Saturnin participate in it. The Sainte Madeleine Chapel is the oldest building of Saint Saturnin: it seems to date from the eleventh century. Oriented to the northeast and not to the east. It dominates the Monne ravine. It was a baptistery until the revolution. It was restored at the initiative of the Society of the Friends of Saint Saturnin founded for this purpose in 1928\. It was classified as a Historical Monument in 1929\. It borders the old parish cemetery whose lintel, dated 1668, includes an invitation to meditation. This cemetery is now a public garden that offers a unique view of the chevet of the church and the postern below.
