Jean Jacques de Boissieu is a French artist, engraver and painter. Enjoying a great reputation in France and Europe, nicknamed by some the «French Rembrandt», he is considered one of the founders of the Lyon School of Painting. He made some plates for the Encyclopédie de Diderot, then specialized in portraits, landscapes and scenes of everyday life in the Lyon region**. On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, 22 engravings from the Armand Decour collection of the media library will be presented from 22 August to 23 September 2023.**
