The Romanesque church of Sainte-Martine rises majestically above the former merchant fleet district. It is the oldest building left by the Middle Ages in Pont-du-Château. Its construction spread over several centuries, from the end of the 12th century until the beginning of the 19th.
The church joined the European Federation of Cluniac Sites in May 2022. It is a candidate for the list application of the UNESCO World Heritage Network.

The majestic Romanesque Church of Sainte-Martine rises above the former quarter of the merchant fleet. It is the oldest building left by the Middle Ages at Pont-du-Château. Its construction spanned several centuries, starting at the end of the 12th century.
From the outside, the ensemble is harmonious, but its homogeneity is attenuated by a black lava bell tower, built in 1816 to replace the one Couthon had razed in 1793\. Inside, the church surprises with the juxtaposition of a vast Gothic Romanesque nave and a choir of modest dimensions, of more recent construction. The 1994-95 restoration did not seek to mitigate this diversity.
