Concert "Trio of saxophones" in Saint Nicolas
(Re) Discover an exceptional building illuminated by an original concert of medieval and renaissance music by a trio of flamboyant saxophones!
The TGM Trio led by Gilbert Tiezzi (soprano saxophone), Gilles Gaviot Blanc (tenor saxophone), and Daniel Mirabeau (baritone saxophone) will make you discover and travel over hundreds of years through medieval and renaissance European musical culture. The saxophone is an instrument born in modern times, with the arrival of industrial production. All the music before 1846 was therefore not imagined with him. However, some saxophonists do not deprive themselves of traveling through time, with adaptations of classical or older repertoires. It is in the music of the Middle Ages, until the end of the Renaissance that the TGM Trio chose to celebrate. They will propose a banquet of short plays, dukes consonances in quartes and quintes of the ars antiqua, the crazy rhythmic inventions of the ars subtilior, as well as a varied pannel on the uses of polyphony with three voices. A unique way to (re)discover the creations of many composers (Pérotin le Grand, Philippe de Vitry, Guillaume de Machault, Jacopo da Bologna, Francesco Landini, Jacob Senleches, Baude Cordier, Guillaume Dufay, Claudin de Sermisy, Pierre Certon, Jacobus Clemens Non Papa, Johannes Jonckers, Jean Delatre, Michaël Praetorius, etc.) not to miss!
