Since the dawn of time, man has recovered the skin of animals from which he feeds to transform and dress himself. This reuse of part of the animal to be discarded makes the leather industry an example of over-cycling (upcycling) - recovering materials or products not used to transform them into materials or products of higher quality and/or utility.
