What a heritage!
Waiting for the religious heritage of Charenton-du-Cher, we present a part of the wardrobe of the Virgin Our Lady of Charenton which has the particularity of being a Virgin dressed for several centuries. The old adornments were destroyed during the Revolution. The Sisters of Charity present in Charenton since the middle of the 19th century have patiently reconstituted a wardrobe of which we present the most beautiful pieces!
The church of Saint-Martin was deeply renovated in the 1980s. Old-fashioned or damaged statues were stored in the attic. We present some as well as surprising pieces!
The Merovingian sarcophagus of Saint-Chalan was Charenton for more than 12 centuries, We present photographs so that the Charenton discover this wonder!

Built at the beginning of the thirteenth century outside the walls of Charenton, the chapel Notre-Dame-de-Grâce has always housed the statue of the Virgin Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, reputed miraculous and dressed Virgin. The chapel was destroyed in 1840 to give way to the royal road Angoulême Nevers. It was rebuilt in the narthex of the abbey church of Notre-Dame de Bellavaux to welcome the Virgin before becoming chapel of the convent of the Sisters of Charity. The old cloakroom disappeared in revolutionary turmoil, the sisters patiently reconstituted it.
