Guided tours of the exhibition "Via Roma, painters and photographers of the Neue Pinakothek - Munich"
This exhibition is designed in partnership with the Neue Pinakothek in Munich around the theme of German artists who worked in Rome during the 19th century.
The exceptional loan of thirty works from these collections and numerous photos from the Dietmar Siegert collection allows a privileged dialogue with works of the Aix painter François-Marius Granet.
At that time, Italy, and especially Rome, was an attractive destination if not essential for German artists. In Rome, these artists met other artists, but also patrons of different nationalities, and participated in a much larger and international art market than anywhere else in Germany, then fragmented politically and economically.
In four parts, the exhibition shows the richness and diversity of styles and sources of inspiration of these painters and photographers at that time. > Find out more: https://www.museegranet-aixenprovence.fr/your-visit/the-events/the-europe-authority-days
