The gardens and exterior of the castle of Lorrière, as well as its chapel, are open as every year to visitors, who have parking at the entrance. Built in the 15th century on the site of an old fortress ruined by the 100 years war, enlarged in the 19th century, the castle is part of the history of the Angevine Renaissance. The gardens dominate a park that extends along the Marconne valley, with below the old mill Pichon. This garden was realized by Renée Bernard de la Frégeolière after her marriage in 1920, on the plans of the landscape architect Jules Vacherot who was in his time the head of the gardens and parks of Paris. Local painters will exhibit works. The entrance of the domain is marked by the menhir of Lorrière, which with its nearby dolmen, will be the subject of a hike this year of local megaliths.
