Created by Romain as part of the organisation of Empire under Augustus, at the beginning of 1 ° century, the Roman city of Noviodunum extends in the current location of Jublains on about 25 hectares, organised according to a mesh size that the emphasising of the site fulfilled of today in fragmented urban. The city declines IV from ° century. Only the monumental finery was brought out(loosened) of it (thermal baths, theatre, temple); the most spectacular and the most cryptic vestige is however the big(great) strengthened building(ship) that its ramparts made call "fortress" and real function(office) of which stays unknown (attic of the annone).
